A glass table protector is a great way to protect the wood surface. Dining tables, coffee tables, desks, and other frequently used surfaces will quickly show their age without some protection. A glass top will resist dings, dents, and stains from food or drinks while still allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the wood itself. Glass tabletops are also simple to maintain and also come with a variety of customization options.
At FGD Glass Solutions, we craft our table tops covers from the highest quality glass. Several types of glass are available to match your design needs, including:
All of the above options except mirrors are available in both standard and tempered glass. Mirrors are only offered in standard, non-tempered glass due to their construction.
Gone are the days when your only choice was a plain glass sheet. Now, you can customize your glass table further with decorative effects, whether you’re aiming for something eye-catching or quietly elegant.
Want to add a pop of color? Use our back painted glass option, which comes in thousands of different colors and paint options. We can help with exact color matching to make sure your glass table top matches perfectly with your other design elements.
Frosted glass creates a softer look and helps diffuse light. If you’re looking for something a bit more bespoke for your custom table top, we can also etch designs, borders, and logos for a unique and unforgettable effect.
Laminated glass allows you to incorporate unique textures into your glass design, including stone, wood, and natural fibers. These are fully customizable, since we can incorporate nearly anything into the decorative interlayer.
Our direct to glass printing allows you to print any graphic in full color and high resolution to your glass panel. This is a perfect option for branding and creating colorful designs.
Glass thickness is another consideration when styling your table top and anticipating how much use the surface will get. We offer thicknesses ranging from 3/16″ to 1/2″.
For home design, thinner glass ranging from 3/16″ to 1/4″ is perfect for protecting small furniture pieces, as well as frames and insets used for light storage. Thicker glass ranging from 3/8″ and 1/2″ is ideal for protecting more heavily used furniture, such as dinner tables, coffee tables, or desks.
If designing for a public space, we generally recommend thicker tempered glass panels, since they’ll have greater durability. Thinner panels of non-tempered or tempered glass may also be suitable for lightly-used surfaces.
Whether you’re looking for a traditional shape or something more unique, we’ll craft a glass protector that fits your surface perfectly. Some of our available shapes include:
